We arrived in Hong Kong in the evening. We were met by our tour representative right away at the airport for a little briefing and the breakfast vouchers. Then we were transferred from the airport to O'Hotel in Kowloon.
June 30
Nothing much to do today, just planned to go to the Observation Wheel and Victoria Peak in the afternoon. Spent the morning eating and resting in the hotel.
July 1
The Peak Tram. A panoramic view of Hong Kong can be enjoyed at the highest peak. You can also enjoy shops and food there. You can reach it via funicular from Central.
Buying the online tram tickets was a very wise decision. We went to the tram station in Central Hong Kong, this time by train (no more walking), again, there was a very long queue. Good thing we had the fast track tickets, so we went past them and straight to the start of the queue. There were also people ahead of us with the same ticket but few.
Nan Lian Garden. A Chinese classic garden with wooden architecture, Buddhist relics and lotus ponds. Herbert has been here. He wants to see it again that's why it's included in our itinerary.
What a day, exhausting and doused in sweat again. Went back to the hotel to get some rest. Spent our last night at the ladies night market. Just curious what's in that place.

O' Hotel, Kowloon City Road, Kowloon
Because we arrived late in Hong Kong, we didn't have time to change our money and most of the stores are closed already. This is the restaurant we found near our hotel that is still open and accepts credit card. It's a little bit fancy but the food was great. Check out our dinner here.
June 27
City Tour. Our first itinerary, half day city tour. It kicked off with a nice dimsum breakfast in Sportful Garden Restaurant located in East Ocean Centre Building. Check out our breakfast here.
After breakfast we headed to a jewelry factory. None of us are fond of jewelries so we just hanged in there and waited for others to get done. You don't have to buy anything but it's really uncomfortable walking around and avoiding sales ladies inside.
Next is the Aberdeen Fishing Village. Knowing it is part of the tour, we just followed everything the tour guide said including the ride on the sampan. We didn't know that we can opt not to ride it because they will charge you after. We were a little bit upset because we were not informed beforehand.
Then we headed to a mid-level spot of Victoria Peak to see some semi-panoramic view of Hong Kong and its harbour. It could have been better if the trees are not blocking view.
Next is the souvenir shop. Headed back downtown to visit a souvenir shop. It's just our first day of the tour so none of us were in the mood for buying stuff to bring home.
Our last attraction of the half day tour is the Avenue of the Stars. Because the Harbourfront Promenade is being renovated, the Avenue of the Stars was relocated somewhere behind K11 Musea. Bruce Lee's monument can also be found here.
And that concludes the city tour. We still have one more itinerary in the afternoon that is also part of the package. There are five options, we chose the Ngong Ping 360. We were picked up by another bus going to Tung Chung where the cable car starts going to Ngong Ping.
Tung Chung Cable Car
At the top, Ngong Ping 360.
Ngong Ping Piazza with Tian Tan Buddha on the background.
Slippers on, my shoes' soles came off. Yes, both of them. On this day, my 15 year old GBX shoes retired.
Entrance to Ngong Ping Piazza.
Time to catch the bus, so we took the cable car again down to Tung Chung, that will drop us off at the hotel. What an exhausting hot day.
Dinner time. It's still early and shops are still open. We found this dimsum place just around the corner. Looks cheap and authentic so we had our dinner here. The food is ok, our last night's dinner was better. Check out what we had here.
June 28
Disneyland. It's Thursday, a perfect day to go to theme parks. The crowd is thinner and more likely to experience all the attractions. Our tour guide yesterday also recommended to do it on weekdays.
After having our breakfast at McDonald's, me and Herbert went straight to Disneyland. As expected, not much people in the park. Queues were short and we even did some rides twice. The only problem is the weather, it was scorching hot. I was wet the whole day because I was sweating profusely. I can literally squeeze sweat out from my towel. It's very uncomfortable, but we are in the happiest place on earth, so I got to do what I got to do, thrill myself.

Breakfast at McDonald's near the hotel.
Disney's own train to the park from Sunny Bay Station.
Our first ride, a virtual experience. This already made me nauseous.
Indoor roller coaster ride.
RC Racer. An exhilarating ride on a U shape track.
It's a Small World. A boat ride about cultures of the world.
Big Grizzly Mountain. The best ride in the park. A roller coaster ride that goes forward then backwards. A thrill ride. Yes, this is the one, we did it twice, I threw up twice.
Mystic Manor. Cool animations inside while in a car ride.
The only food I had the whole day. I intended not to eat because some of the rides made me threw up.
Stayed here till closing time. No more parade, only light show and Mickey's spin.
Went home so late and so tired there were no more shops open. Did not have dinner. Not in the mood to eat anyway.
June 29
Nothing to do today, just went out this morning to eat some congee. Checked out and moved on to our next hotel. Because we are staying here in Hong Kong for a week, we booked two hotels. The first one is included in the package and the next one is in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Had my breakfast here along Lok Shan Road.
Best Western Plus Hotel Kowloon along Chatham Road.
After checking in, we had our lunch in this small restaurant along Cameron Rd. It was a good choice eating here. The food was great. Check out what we had here.
After our lunch, we went back to the hotel to rest. Got ourselves ready for dinner at Temple Street. It's so enticing to stay in the hotel because of the hot weather.
Where we had our dinner. Can't remember the exact location in Temple Street. Check out our dinner here.
June 30
Nothing much to do today, just planned to go to the Observation Wheel and Victoria Peak in the afternoon. Spent the morning eating and resting in the hotel.
Had my breakfast here along Prat Ave.
Had my lunch here along Hart Ave.
Heading to Hong Kong side via Star Ferry.
Observation Wheel in Central Wan Chai.
Inside the capsule of the Observation Wheel.
Victoria Harbour.
After riding the Observation Wheel, we decided to walk going to The Peak Tram as the proximity on the map looks short distance. Just about half-way, we already realized it's a bad decision. Walking in that kind of weather is punishing. Still, we carried on. Finally, we reached the tram, wasted. Adding more insult to injury, we came upon a very long queue. That's it, we were done. We decided to do it the next day and walk back down to the ferry station. I can't believe our two seniors were able to keep up with us.
Before going back to the hotel, we took away some food because we knew everyone is going to be lazy to go out again for dinner. While resting, I also tried to book online a tram ticket with fast track to save some time tomorrow.
After a good rest, we went out for a midnight snack here along Prat Ave.
July 1
Had my breakfast here along Prat Ave. Everyone were lazy to get up in the morning for breakfast, that's why I'm always alone.

The Peak Tower. A must do when you visit Hong Kong.

Had our dinner here, somewhere near the ladies market.
July 2
The last one of my solo breakfast routine. This is a little bit farther from the hotel, it's on the West side of Nathan Road. It wasn't my original choice because the dimsum restaurant I was looking for in Ichang Street was still closed.
Ended up here for breakfast along Hankow Road.
Just beside our hotel was this bake shop. Been curious since I saw it. Good thing I still had the chance to try their tart, the cheese milk flavor was damn delicious.
Our last day. Six days in Hong Kong. We could have done more but the hot weather was just unforgiving. This is my only trip that I had to do some laundry because I can't keep my soiled clothes in the bag that long. Drenched in sweat, insects fly around my luggage. Yet, it was a loaded and fun trip with the Nietos. Bound for Macau.
Check out our Macau trip.
