Camiguin

5 Things we did in Camiguin
November 23-26, 2009

  1. Guiob Church Ruins
  2. Sunken Cemetery
  3. Stations of the Cross
  4. White Island
  5. Paras Beach Resort

Trip Notes

  • Upon arriving at the port, we hired a multicab to take us around the island and to our hotel in Yumbing.  Cab rental is P1800 for 8 hours.
  • I forgot the name of the hotel that we stayed in but I think it's Padua Cottages.  It cost P1200 a night for the 3 of us.
  • Paras Beach Resort is the best in the area, stay there if you have the budget.

This is our side trip from Cagayan de Oro to visit the town and the famous White Island.  We only intend to stay here for 2 nights but due to the typhoon, we were stranded for another night without electricity.  No boats were allowed to sail.  Landslides and erosion made the roads impassable so we have to cross every damaged roads to transfer vehicles.  Even though we stayed at Padua's, we hanged out the whole day at Paras Beach resort because they have generator, a nice restaurant, view of the beach and a pool (for guests only).

When we knew about the news that boats are clear to sail, we head back to Cagayan de Oro, stayed for 1 night then head to Boracay via Negros Navigation and Ceres Bus Line.

Please see my Cagayan de Oro and Boracay posts.
