Trip Notes
- Bought my Metallica ticket online through SISTIC. It cost S$191 for Set A (zone nearest to the stage). Bring a valid ID and the credit card used to purchase the ticket for collection.
- My round trip air fare via Jetstar is P7,862.64 with check in baggage.
- Got a complementary ticket from a friend for Singapore Zoo.
- Visa is granted upon entry in Singapore, usually good for 30 days. Bring proofs for Philippine Immigration that your stay in Singapore is for holiday, all Filipinos bound to Singapore are suspected to work illegally.
- S$1 = PHP34
This is not actually a holiday trip, I visited Singapore just to watch a Metallica Concert. Watching Metallica live is an awesome experience. Since they are not visiting Manila, Singapore is their nearest live venue aside from Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. Of course, I will choose Singapore, I really love this place and will never get tired of going back. I only have a 1 day event but I stayed for 5 days for the place to sink in and enjoy wandering again, I've been here for 2 weeks just a year ago but still can't get enough of it.
August 23
Arrived in Singapore at 12:40am. My friend, Michelle, picked me up at the airport and head to her pad where I stayed the whole trip.
No trips for the day, just claimed my Metallica ticket in one of the SISTIC collection agents then meet my friend, Don, for dinner.

Singapore Zoo and Metallica Concert
Singapore Zoo. From Tampines taking green line, I transferred to red line at Jurong East station to meet Don and his brother at Choa Chu Kang station. From Choa Chu Kang bus interchange, we took bus No. 927, this bus goes straight to Singapore Zoo without any stops. Tickets for Singapore Zoo cost S$22 per adult. Don's brother has complimentary tickets to the zoo so we went there for free.

- The zoo is so big you have to spend the whole day to see each and every animals.
- Bring some water with you.
- Take note of the feeding times of the animals to watch them eat and also try to feed them.
- There are also other adventures aside from the zoo like River Safari, Night Safari and Bird Park.
We only stayed in the zoo for 3 hours and went back home to rest a bit to get ready for the concert.
Metallica. Time for head bangin' and loud music. Met Don and his brother in Tampines and took a taxi to Changi Exhibition Center. This is a new venue and not a lot of taxi drivers knew the place. Metallica was the first to use it. It's not even in Google maps yet. I searched the map manually and used the link for Aviation Park Road, the open area beside the hangar is the place, no public transport available except taxis. Just click the Changi Exhibition Center link to see it on the map.
When we arrived at the site, as soon as we got off the taxi, we can already hear Metallica playing. Oh no, we were late, so we ran as fast as we could. There are no more queues, most of the people are already inside the perimeter. We have a Set A ticket but we ended up in Set B. We can't reach Set A anymore because it's too crowded already. But what the hell, Metallica is live and loud before our eyes so we just enjoyed every moment of it. I think we missed 2 songs when we arrived. The time in the ticket says 8:30 pm, we thought there will be some front acts but it was Metallica at 8:30 pm sharp.
Whew, what a night. An event to be remembered for the rest of my life. The highlight of my trip has ended, now what.....
August 25
Just visited the different malls in downtown Singapore.
August 26
Attended my friend's birthday party in Woodlands and call it the day.
August 27
Marina Bay and Geylang
Marina Bay. Met Don again and went to the bay area and the Gardens to take some pictures.
Geylang. We got off at Aljunied station of Green Line. Walked along Aljunied Road to reach Geylang Road. Went here with Don just to eat some fried frogs. That's it, no dirty business, hehe.

After dinner, it's time to pack my things and return home. Thanks to Don for taking an off from work to accompany me. I went back to Tampines to get my things then off to the airport for my 1 am flight to Manila. Even though I didn't do a lot of adventures in this trip, I still enjoyed my trip, it's unique, it's so easygoing unlike my other adventure pack trips.
